Meet Brett, Boutique Manager at Loupe Sheffield and a passionate mechanical watch enthusiast. Discover more about his journey into the world of luxury watches and fine jewellery.
So, tell us about you Brett, and what lead you to becoming a Loupe Boutique Manager?
“My career in the jewellery industry began nearly 24 years ago and started off as just a job, but soon became a passion in my life. After five years, my career elevated and I moved to a luxury family jeweller.
After working hard to build my career, I was thrilled to become Manager of the luxury jewellers H. L. Brown in Sheffield in 2016. Over the past 10 years I have enjoyed leading the team in Sheffield, which I'm excited to continue doing so now the H. L. Brown store has transitioned into the city's first Loupe Boutique.”
What's the most exhilarating part of working within the luxury watch and jewellery industry?
“I love being a part of my clients’ special occasions and being surrounded by beautiful pieces. Mechanical watches are my passion. I always admire the highly skilled craftsmanship that shines within each piece. During my career I have had the privilege of visiting some fantastic locations, including Switzerland (the capital of the watch industry), which was a real career highlight.”
What’s your go-to advice for someone looking foran unforgettable milestone gift?
“Listen to your heart. Your head often provides you with limitations and can distract you from the romance of the occasion, whether a gift for a loved one or a treat for yourself the piece should be loved and fill the wearer with excitement.
You never want that feeling of “I wish I had”.”
What does ‘luxury’ mean to you?
"Luxury to me means exquisite craftmanship, excellence and quality. Something that is elegant beyond expectation and has a high desirability. For most it is an experience that is dreamt of for years filling them with joy, pride and excitement when they get to have it for themselves."
What are your passions outside of watches and jewellery?
“My family are my greatest passion; I am a proud father and husband and feel very fortunate to be able to support them. I am also a keen renovator and love nothing more than putting new life into an old piece of furniture. We moved into a large Victorian property last year and there is always lots to do and get your imagination into.”
What’s your tipple recommendation in the Loupe Sheffield boutique?
“Oh, I'd have to say the Veuve Clicquot Champagne. It’s beautiful and oozes luxury. Champagne is a must for any celebration…or for a well-deserved moment of self-indulgence.”
What's one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
“Completely non work related, but I love music, it keeps me going. I'll listen to all sorts; I'm really into country currently. Also, I love to dance, I think I probably come across as a little quiet and reserved so I don't think people expect it from me.”
