ZENITH G.F.J. CALIBRE 135

G.F.J.

Say hello to the newest ZENITH collection and its first timepiece, the G.F.J. Named after ZENITH’s founder, Georges Favre-Jacot, this watch journeys back to where it all started in 1865. Inspired by his dream to create the most precise watch, its sleek and slender design evokes vintage-style elegance and the determination to reach the highest point in horological excellence.

And that’s exactly what this timepiece does. Reviving the most awarded movement from the golden age of observatory chronometer competitions, ZENITH’s calibre 135-O outshone its competitors, claiming a record-breaking 235 chronometry prizes. Produced from 1949-1962, the watchmaker is bringing this calibre back to life for its 160th birthday. But not without a contemporary makeover.

The latest model brings this movement into the 21st century, with an offset center wheel, oversized balance wheel, and a 72-hour power reserve. A new gear train enhances efficiency, operating at 2.5 Hz. Taking characteristics from its ancestor including a double arrow regulator, this calibre now boasts a stop-second mechanism, spring-mounted jewel settings, and COSC certification. Retro yet revolutionary, we can see why ZENITH have brought this icon back.

"Few movements in watchmaking history have achieved the level of chronometric excellence and recognition as the calibre 135. More than just a technical achievement, it became a true icon of precision. Bringing it back for our 160th anniversary is about honoring this legacy while sharing it with a new generation of collectors. With the G.F.J., we have reimagined this legendary movement, not simply as a nod to the past, but as a way to share a defining part of its heritage while offering a contemporary interpretation that resonates with today’s spirit, and we are deeply proud of it." - Benoît de Clerck, CEO of ZENITH

ZENITH G.F.J. CALIBRE 135

Gold-colored flecks evoke a starry sky upon the dial, crafted from lapis lazuli, perfectly complementing the distinctive ZENITH star at 12 o’clock. Showcasing a small seconds counter at 6 o’clock, white gold hour markers, this model is limited to 160 pieces - and is equal parts opulent and exclusive.
