So, Steven, can you tell us about your journey to becoming Loupe’s Retail and Operations Manager?
"I started working for The Beaverbrooks Group at the tender age of 16 while I was at college. My plan was to study law at university, but I had such a great time at the Beaverbrooks store at Lakeside Essex, I just never left! I really enjoyed being a part of our client’s big life moments and my career progressed quickly, from Assistant Sales Manager to my role as Recruitment and Training Manager which I loved for 11 years."
"Then more recently, I was given the incredible opportunity to take up a new and exciting role for Loupe and I jumped at the opportunity. And what a great ride it’s been."
What do you love the most about being a part of Loupe?
"I love being part of our clients’ most important moments, nothing can beat the feeling of seeing someone buying their first luxury watch, or a special piece for someone they love. I also love being a role model for my team. Inspiring someone to be a better version of themselves is what it’s about."
What do you love most about your role as Retail and Operations Manager?
"My role has developed over recent years, and I get to work with our teams both in the Boutiques and at Head Office. Nothing can beat the feeling of everyone working collaboratively on one end goal.... To make Loupe truly special."
What brings you joy?
"Surprising and delighting people, in and out of work. Whether it’s bringing joy to our clients or coming home early and surprising my kids."
What was the proudest moment of your career?
"I think getting my first manager role. I had set myself a goal of being proud of my position in my career by the time I would have graduated and so being made a manager by the age of 19 was the confirmation I needed that I’d made the right decision. There have also been lots of other highlights, such as getting a call from Anna (our Managing Director) and being asked to give a speech at a large trade show and of course, starting my role at Loupe."
What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
"Just being with my wife and children and having fun, wherever our plans take us. And maybe sneaking in the Tottenham match if I can!"
What’s your favourite drink from our Loupe bar?
"I’d love to say its one of our cocktails, but nothing beats an Estrella Damm. Although I do enjoy a glass of champagne when the occasion calls for it."
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
"Read, read and read some more. If you read enough, you’ll be able to change the world."
